Jones traded to Maine Red Claws

  NBA D-LEAGUE: Red Claws trade for Erskine graduate Jones PORTLAND — Erskine Academy graduate Josh Jones, who was drafted in the third round of the NBA Development League draft Thursday night, was traded to the Maine Red Claws this afternoon. Jones, a Husson University standout, was acquired from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in exchange for the Red Claws third-round pick, Charles Okwandu of the University of Connecticut. Jones participated in the Red Claws open tryout before signing an NBA D-League contract and entering the 2011 draft. He helped Husson to a 21-7 record last season and a berth NCAA Division III tournament. A native of Jefferson, Jones averaged 19.2 points and 11.4 rebounds for Husson last sason. Dollard signs in Czech Republic

      Josh Dollard (Auburn), 6'8 power forward, has just inked in a one-year deal with Sluneta Usti nad Labem. The team is currently 2-5 in the Czech's top division and is looking for the missing piece to be filled by Dollard, who averaged 18ppg, 8rpg and shot 38% from the 3-point line during the 2010/2011 season (Halifax).

    Jer’Vaughn Johnson (CSU Fullerton) had a remarkable game, for only being his 2nd in Israel.  In a close loss to Hod Hasharon, Johnson scored 20 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, while also contributing with 2 assists and 1 steal. The European game is difficult for most rookies to pick up immediately, so we can only assume Johnson’s numbers will continue to rise.

  Final Selections Made for 2011 US Pan-Am Games Team The official 12-man USA Basketball Men’s Pan American Games Team was announced Wednesday night after six days of training in Tulsa, Okla. Stallworth to play with Rondo, Cousins…

      Maze Stallworth has been asked to join former Morehead State teammate, Kenneth Faried, in playing with several NBA/University of Kentucky Alum. The team is being coached by former NBA star Rex Chapman, and will include players such as Rajon Rondo, Jodie Meeks, DeMarcus Cousins, Brandon Knight, Keith Bogans and John Wall.    The team will travel around the mid-west region and play several universities. On October 25th, the Big Blue All-Stars will play a game in Rupp Arena against "The Villains." This team will be coached by NBA Great, Christian Laettner and include players such as Corey Brewer, Rudy Gay, Eric Gordon, Tyler Hansbrough and more.

Pratt: 18 points in Friendly Game

        Will Pratt (Northwestern State) is beginning to adjust to the European game. After shooting 2/7 in his last outing, Pratt bounced back strong in yesterday's pre-season match, scoring 18 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, dishing out 3 assists and snatching 2 steals. These are the type of numbers Pratt put up and college and as he adjusts to Portugal, look for him to continue to improve.
