  Two days before Christmas and Denzel Bowles remains as focused as ever. Last night, in a double-overtime game against Rudupis, Bowles helped carry his team to a 110-104 victory. Siauliai was ahead nearly 20 points going into halftime and all was looking good. Rudupis started the second half very strong, and by the 4th quarter and made it a close game again. Bowles finished the game with 27 points, while shooting a perfect 7 of 7 from the free-throw line. He also added 8 rebounds and 7 assists to give him a very well rounded performance.

Justin Johnson: Leading Scorer on Team

  With Edwin Ubiles and Anthony Goods away at NBA Training Camp, Justin Johnson has picked up the scoring role for the Dakota Wizards. Johnson, who has only played 4 games with the Wizards, is currently the leading scorer on the team – averaging 16 points a game and shooting 63% from the field. This weekend Johnson had very solid bacl-to-back performances against the Sioux Falls Skyforce. On Friday night, in a close loss, Johnson scored 14 points on 4 of 7 shooting from the field and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. He also pitched in with 2 assists and 1 block. Saturday, Johnson shot 6 of 10, giving him 15 points and helping his team get the Skyforce win.

Denzel Bowles: 29 rebounds in 2 games

  Denzel Bowles continues to play like the Pro that his team is very much in need of. This weekend, Bowles had two outstanding performances in back-to-back games: On Friday night, Bowles put up a career-high 30 points on 13 of 21 shooting and gave his team a great shot at a tough win against Kaunas. He also grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out 4 assists, but is was just not enough to keep his team from losing by just 4 points. Saturday, against Kedainia, Bowles had another big rebounding night, pulling down 15 while also scoring 8 points. Denzel Bowles is currently averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds in the Baltic League, and 12 points, 7 rebounds in Lithuanian play.

Will Pratt: 15 points, 23 minutes

    Will Pratt was the 2nd most efficient scorer in college basketball (#1 was Jimmer Fredette), averaging 18 points in only 25 minutes per game. Pratt is definitely bringing the same efficiency in the NBA D-league. In last night's contest against the Dakota Wizards, Pratt helped the Skyforce to a 12-point win, coming off the bench with 15 points in only 23 minutes. He also filled the stat sheet by contributing 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

Eugene Spates: 17 points, 7 rebounds

    Eugene Spates is finally starting to find his rhythm…on both ends of the court.   After being you sparingly this season, Spates is starting to see regular minutes and really show what he can do. In 35 minutes of action last night, Spates had 17 points on 6 of 11 shooting.  He also played stellar defense, grabbing 7 rebounds, blocking 2 shots and getting 2 steals. Spates is stepping up big while the Armor have 4 players gone to NBA training camps.

Ronnie Aguilar: 7 points, 7 rebounds

      The 7'1 center from Colorado State is playing his role in the NBA D-league.  Ronnie Aguilar gives his team instant defense coming off the bench for the Bakersfield Jam, who are currently in 1st Place in the Western Conference. Last night, Aguilar saw 16 minutes of action and definitely made the most of it, by grabbing 7 rebounds (3 offensive) and putting up 7 points (3/6 shooting). Aguilar is still adjusting to the new league but is definitely a rookie to keep an eye on.

Will Pratt: 18 points, gets the win

      Pratt is really adjusting to the bigger, more athletic players of the NBA D-league and is showing that a scorer is a scorer – regardless of where he is playing.   Tonight, Pratt stepped up and contributed 18 points, coming off the bench against the Canton Charge (Cleveland Cavaliers affiliate). He did this on 7 of 12 shooting, while also contributing 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. The Sioux Falls Skyforce defeated the Charge 93-74.

        Denzel Bowles (JMU), has received Lithuania Player of the Week award twice as a rookie, as well as winning the VTB League Player of the week award. This week he had another stellar performance. Against Tartu and December 9th, he put up 18 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block, in a very good win, 109-94.   The very next day, Bowles had a monster game against Kalev, dropping 25 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Bowles continues to grow, but his understanding of the European professional game is beyond his years. He is doing things that very few rookies have been able to accomplish.
